[Name] Samail Hyme |
[History] Sam was never particularly close with his father, a structured, detail-oriented, traditional man. His sister, one year older, was his closest childhood friend before a Hezbollah suicide bomber took her life and Samail's mother's life one day. He hates Palestinians, and has since then. He doesn't see any logic fallacies in this whatsoever. He has never seen his prejudices as prejudices, per se, and has a bit of an irrational streak regarding them. He enjoyed speech and debate courses most in school, excelling primarily at literature and math. School was not hard for him, or rather, the subjects were not. Since childhood, he preferred to read or write than talk to another person, and spent most of his earlier school years alone. |
[Personality] Samail is thoughtful and logical. The world has not ended thus far, and the odds look poor of it happening. Poor boy doesn't seem to have grasped yet that the odds have nothing to do with it. Sam is prone to a little arrogance, and a lot of attitude. He tends to think of most people as unimportant, bland, overly concerned with foolish things, but he wouldn't tell them that unless he felt particularly snippy. He doesn't consider himself emo, or poetic, or any such things, nor a philospher, but he thinks about the meaning of life sometimes, and it confuses him. He can't seem to find a place in that meaning for him, and he doesn't understand why other people aren't concerned at all about it in relations with themselves. He has no desire to find the truth of the matter, or an interest in the meaning of life - he simply needs to know why he is here, why everyone else is here, what they are intended to accomplish in the 80 or so years before they die. It makes him uncomfortable, and has turned him from religion, rather than to it, unable to find any answer that can satisfy both his painful curiosity and his steadfast reasoning. |
[Appearance] Tall and slim with longish hair. He's terribly vain about it, changing the color of it from time to time like a girl might. It's naturally a medium auburn, but at any given time might be blonde or brown or red. He stands with a slouch, but walks briskly. |
